Whole family went out to the yard for the eclipse. Not full totality here, just a deep partial, but the light did that strange metallic thing everyone said it would, shadows going sharp and wrong for a few minutes. Sister took about two hundred pictures on Mom's phone, most of them blurry. Good afternoon. First one in weeks I didn't spend at least partly thinking about attention mechanisms. Needed it, probably, even if I didn't know I needed it until it happened.
