Junior year started three weeks ago and I have not touched the transformer stuff in over a week, which is annoying but also just true. APUSH has a reading load I did not budget for. Chemistry lab reports take way longer than they should. And I picked up hours at the hardware store on weekends now — Dave (my boss, if "boss" is the right word for a guy who mostly just wants someone to man the register while he does inventory) is fine, the job itself is boring in a restful way, and it pays actual money, which I need if I ever want a real GPU instead of whatever I can find used on eBay for under $200. Priced out a GTX 1080 Ti tonight out of curiosity. Not buying it. Not close to buying it. Just wanted to know how far away "not close" actually is. Answer: pretty far. Would need like four months of weekend shifts and not spending on anything else at all. Small annoying thing: my sister has started complaining that the internet gets slow when I'm "doing your computer thing," which is fair, actually, because it does, and I don't love admitting that a 12-year-old's Roblox lag is a legitimate grievance against my hobby. Working on being less annoying about hogging bandwidth. Mostly failing. Haven't abandoned the translation experiment, just haven't had a real evening for it. Might be a October thing instead of a September thing. That's fine. Nobody's timing this but me.
