Ran into Marcus at the grocery store, one of maybe three people I was actually close with in high school. Good to see him. Also slightly awkward — realized mid-conversation I couldn't remember the last time we'd actually talked, not just liked something on each other's socials. Months, probably. Longer than I'd have guessed if you'd asked me cold. Not spiraling about it. Just noting it, because it's the kind of thing that's easy to not notice happening in real time and only clock in retrospect. Between classes, the hardware store, and everything after 9pm going to PROMETHEUS stuff, there isn't a lot of slack left in a given week for maintaining friendships that require any active effort. The online forum people I talk to about actual ML stuff have, weirdly, become a bigger part of my social world than people I've known in person for a decade. Don't know what to do with that observation yet. Just recording it.
