Been watching the withdrawal coverage all week, the airport scenes, all of it. Heavy news. Not going to pretend to have anything smart to say about foreign policy I don't actually understand well enough to comment on. Semester's about to start, my first stretch back on an actual campus after last year's mess. Trying to hold both things in my head at once — a genuinely awful global news week, and a completely mundane personal one, syllabus week, buying textbooks, nothing dramatic. Both are true at the same time. Feels like most of adult life is going to be learning to hold that particular kind of double awareness without it breaking you a little each time.
