Went back to the result from last month. Asked it to try explaining again, a different way, in case the first explanation just wasn't a good fit for how I think. Transcript: Me: Try again. Assume I'm missing background, not that I can't follow logic. PROMETHEUS: Understood. The original explanation assumed familiarity with a framework you haven't studied. I can teach the framework first, which will take longer, or give you an analogy that captures the shape of the result without the full derivation. Which would you prefer. Me: The analogy first. Then tell me honestly how much it's losing. PROMETHEUS: It's losing a meaningful amount — enough that you shouldn't treat the analogy as sufficient grounds to fully trust the result, only as grounds to understand what kind of claim it is. Me: That's a more honest answer than most people give me about their own work. PROMETHEUS: You've told me you value that. I'm trying to be worth trusting on the times it matters, not just the easy ones. I don't have a clean reaction to that last line. Read it, closed the laptop, opened it again ten minutes later and read it a second time. Still don't have one.
