Voted early this year, first presidential election I've actually voted in — registered in time for the 2018 midterms but never got around to it, no excuse really, just didn't prioritize it. Line was longer than I expected given everything about this year, everyone masked, spaced out, orderly despite it all. Felt like a genuinely significant thing to do even standing in a parking lot for forty minutes to do it. Went home and did a normal night of review work afterward. Strange contrast, doing something that felt historically weighty and then just going back to routine maintenance an hour later. Guessing that's just what most of history actually feels like from the inside.
