Went back and looked at how often I was posting in 2017 versus now. Some months back then, three, four entries a week, half of them just me thinking out loud about nothing in particular. This year I'm lucky to get one every few weeks, and most of them are shorter than they used to be. Part of it is just less free time — the review workload alone eats most evenings now. Part of it, I think, is that I've gotten more careful about what I'm willing to put in writing since the Box went up, and being careful takes more energy than being open, so a lot of entries that would've existed a few years ago just don't get written at all now, not because nothing happened, but because I didn't have the energy to figure out how to write about it safely. Not going to force more entries than I have. Just wanted the change on the record, since a reader going through this later — if there ever is one — should know the silence starting around now is a real shift, not an accident of me getting busy.
