Been a heavy year for news generally — the rally shooting in the summer, Biden dropping out, now this. Feels like the kind of year that gets its own chapter in whatever future history books cover this decade. Meanwhile my actual week was: three days of chasing a subtle bug in the evaluation pipeline that turned out to be a floating-point precision issue nobody would ever notice unless they were specifically looking for it. Both things happened in the same week of the same life. Still not used to how normal that juxtaposition has become.
