SpaceX sent astronauts up today, first crewed launch from US soil in years apparently. Whole family watched the livestream together, actual excitement in the house for the first time in a while, a good kind of shared attention instead of the usual scattered-doom-scrolling kind this year has mostly produced. Nice reminder that not everything happening in the world right now is bad news. Needed that more than I realized.
